Snap Fitness is a health and fitness club franchise with over 2500 locations around the world.

### Goals

- Combine 12+ websites for different countries with different languages into one multilingual site
- Simple way to share and update common content across multiple country pages and child pages
- Ability to share blog posts from one country onto another
- Migrate all relevant data from legacy sites
- Handle redirects from all legacy sites
- Provide in-depth franchising information

### Tools used

SilverStripe 4, MySQL, Webpack, SASS, and jQuery

### My learnings

- Code structure to support faux subsites
- The benefits of SASS such as variables, mixins, nested syntax and file joining
- Google translate API
- IP detection to notify user of content specific to their location

### Goals

- Modernise the site with its own custom built theme
- Improve the sidebar features
- Add more custom pages with unique requirements

### My learnings

- General freelance experience
- Ability to build a site without any mockups, only hand-drawn wireframes
- Creating a colour scheme appropriate to the branding
- Elementor is an excellent choice for allowing non-technical users to update content
- Deployment through Bluehost

- Using flexbox provides answers to previously tricky CSS questions
- Webpack hot reloading to improve local development speed
- The benefits of SASS such as variables, mixins, nested syntax and file joining

- Improve club search functionality
- Priority on maximising conversions for free trials with the potential for memberships
- Allow club managers to easily update their availability for free trial opening times
- Generate interest from potential franchisees
- Improve online enrolment experience

### My learnings

- Mapping CMS selected time ranges into 30min interval slots for free workouts
- Managing different colour schemes in CSS for mobile vs desktop
- Applying CSS gradient overlays
- Google's geo location detection
- Add to calendar and social sharing functionality
